Welcome to my blog, where I share my views and thoughts on any issue I find interesting. I find that blogging helps me refine my opinions as I structure my arguments and reexamine my reasoning while writing. And as you will note from my blog, I have an opinion on everything! Some of these opinions are reasonably founded, and some (few, I hope, rather than many) will be misguided and maybe even stupid. The good thing about publishing a blog, however, is that there’s no shortage of people on the internet who will want to criticize your ideas.

I live in Washington DC, USA and I work in international investments. I am in my mid-thirties and I was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I am married and father to a beautiful little girl. I could describe my philosophical inclinations in any of the usual adjectives commonly used for that purpose (e.g. liberal vs conservative), but that usually ends up stereotyping my arguments based on whatever perception the reader has of any of those adjectives. I am sorry to disappoint you. Anyway, few will have stereotyped me already just by learning that little bit of my background.

Finally, a disclaimer: my views are all subject to change no matter how firm they may be at any point of time. I’m always open to new perspectives and counter arguments, and some of my views now are in complete opposition to very strong views I myself held not many years ago. Some call this flip-flopping, I call it the process of learning.
